Doing Things Differently

Neil Marshall opened Neil’s Swim School4All in 2022 with the aim of providing high quality, affordable swimming lessons for everybody which fitted in with the lifestyles of todays modern families.
 
We are very different to other swimming schools because we teach the whole family – babies, toddlers, school children, teenagers, adults and importantly children, teenagers and adults who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities – those people with SEND have individual needs and are often excluded from accessing swimming sessions at other swim schools and Leisure Centres.
 
In the two years since we started, we have grown very quickly and now teach over 400 people a week, 7 days a week at swimming pools in Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire with the vast majority of our bookings coming from people who have been recommended to us by people we already teach.

Terms and Conditions

  • Payment is required in advance for all lessons taking place each month.
  • If a learner is unable to attend a lesson due to things such as illness, holiday or a function, payment is still required, and we will do our best to arrange a replacement/catch up lesson to make up for the missed lesson.
  • If we need to cancel a lesson for any reason, we will do our best to arrange a replacement/catch up lesson to make up for the missed lesson.
  • We require 1 months’ notice in writing in advance to terminate lessons.

The Water Safety Awards

There are three Water Safety Awards teaching water danger awareness, self-rescue techniques and vital survival skills in clothes, without swimming goggles. The Water Safety Awards have been developed in partnership with Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and Royal Lifesaving Society UK (RLSS UK). They are a must for any parent to consider for their child. The Water Safety Awards are:
Water Safety 1 Award
During this Award your child will learn basic water safety awareness and survival techniques such as floating, treading water and submerging and resurfacing, without goggles.
Water Safety 2 Award
This Award introduces swimming in clothes, the key water safety messages from RNLI and RLSS, and essential personal survival techniques such as the Heat Escape Lessening Position (HELP).
Water Safety 3 Award On completing this third and final Water Safety Award your child will fully understand how to perform safe self-rescue in different open and pool-based water situations, and what to do if they fall into water unexpectedly.

Babies From 12 Weeks

Our baby and toddler swimming classes teach vital water confidence, water safety and swimming skills in a fun environment with lots of songs and games. Babies can start lessons from just 12 weeks old and continue these lessons until they are around 2years old. The lessons also provide a fantastic bonding experience with parents and we are happy for both parents to get into the pool with the baby.
During these lessons, babies and toddlers will receive Swim England Discovery Ducklings Awards with Level 1 to 4 badges and certificates.

Teenagers

Our swimming lessons for teenagers are specially designed for those who did not learn to swim when they were younger children, or can swim a little and want to improve their swimming or who have completed the Swim England Learn to Swim Awards Programme and want to continue to build on their skills. To ensure teenagers feel comfortable during lessons we group them in classes with other teenagers of similar age and ability.

Pre-Schoolers

Our pre-school swimming lessons are available for children from 2 years old to around 4 years old. Parents normally get in the pool with their child/children to provide extra support and help in learning new skills however, those children who are very confident can get into the pool on their own supported by floats and our teachers who teach in the water. During these lessons children continue to develop their water confidence, water safety and swimming skills to prepare them to progress our independent swimming classes.
During these lessons, children will receive Swim England Duckling Awards – Duckling 1 will see children starting to move themselves in the water and by Duckling 4 they will be jumping in, going underwater, floating and travelling without support.

SEN Children

Our Award-Winning Swimming Sessions and Lessons for children with Special Educational Needs are unique – we provide weekly SEN family swim sessions, small group and 121 lessons.
All of our sessions and lessons are tailored to the individual, specific needs of each child.
As all children are different, we recommend that parents call us to discuss the individual needs of their child or children so that we can then decide on the best sessions or lessons for them.

School Children

Our swimming lessons for school children start when the children are around 4 years old and they get into the pool on their own with support from our swimming teachers all of whom teach in the water with the children so they can explain how to do things and provide reassurance and support. As all children are different, some children might not be confident enough to get into the water on their own – therefore we are happy for a parent or carer to get in the pool with children who need extra support until they are ready to learn on there own.
During these lessons, children will receive Swim England Learn Awards – starting with Level 1 using swimming aids, by Level 7 children will have completed their swimming journey and will be able to swim all 4 strokes to the Swim England recognised standard.

Adults

Our adult only swimming lessons are for ALL adults – those who want to learn to swim for the first time, those who want to improve their swimming or those who want to swim competitively – whatever the reason we provide adult only lessons in lovely private, warm water pools with individual tuition. 1 in 4 adults cannot swim at all and therefore if you are a non-swimmer, you are not alone and should not feel embarrassed or worried about it.
